For all of us, 2011 has turned into a year with many unexpected supply and price challenges. The global shortage of fluorine-based materials from all manufacturers is well documented. Our extended purchasing forecasts have shielded the general industrial customer base from many of the finished product shortages, delivery delays, and price increases that could have taken place during the first half of this year. However, we are in a position where we must announce a price increase effective August 15, 2011. This increase is relatively minor in scale, but it is a necessary step for us to continue to be able to provide the level of service and delivery necessary to support our customer base.
We go to great lengths to balance our inventory with the critical products that many businesses depend on for their businesses. With the exception of the ETFE product line, our PFA,FEP, and PTFE based products inventory is stronger than ever. We are still shipping next day on the majority of these products. Continued supply of these products is very stable and we don’t anticipate any issues with these products moving forward. You can be confident that DuPont and Intech are committed to providing a consistent supply of high quality products to the Industrial Finishes segments.

On a related note, we have received several new commercially available Gen X products from DuPont this year, with more product lines set to transition during the remainder of 2011. The initial response to the application and performance of these Gen X products has been very positive. We appreciate DuPont’s investment in R&D resources to create these EPA compliant coatings. It is clearly a sign of their long term value and support of the North American industrial markets. We will be sending out an Intech Insider in the coming months that describes the Gen X product launch in more detail.
