New Year, New Look

Intech Services is excited to announce our new website design.  You may have already noticed that we revealed our new design on Friday.  If not, go to www.intechservices.com and check out the new site.  When you log in to your Intech account, all your account and shopping information has been maintained within the new portal.

In 1998, www.intechservices.com was born and in 2007, the site was redesigned with the ability to purchase DuPont fluoropolymers and CoaterONE products online.  This new site offers a new contemporary look and streamlined user experience.  It features enhanced resources with our Solution Center and functionality designed to serve the industrial coating community and strategic end users.  The new home page is easy to navigate allowing you to get the valuable information that you need with one click of the mouse.  We aim to be the complete resource in the industry and our website is integral to achieving this goal.

Take a moment to explore the new site and look for additions in the near future. Throughout the next few months, we will be featuring new website functions and additions on our blog, The Intech Insider( www.intechinsider.com).

WHMIS compliance for DuPont Teflon

This information and regulation applies only to Canadian Customers. A note to US Customers: This does not effect your labeling and your products will not have the following labeling.

In order to be compliant with the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS), we will now be labeling our fluoropolymer containers.  Currently, there is a hazard label on the shipping box, but from now on there will be a hazard label placed on the product's container

This is a sample of the label. The labels are in both English and French translation.  The labels will explain if the product is flammable, danger of inhalation, corrosive, or toxic or any combination of the these.

Manufacturing in 2012 in the United States

As we start off 2013, let's take a moment to look back at 2012.  Manufacturing seems to be doing much better in the US than it has been in the last 5 or more years. At Intech, we see this trend and believe that it will continue going forward into 2013.  We came across an article called  "The Top Five Manufacturing Trends of 2012." that was insightful.

Summary of the Article: Manufacturing in the United States is at an all-time high since 2007, according to the Bureau of Economic Analysis, and represents 12% of the GDP. Several manufacturing techniques and technologies have helped U.S. manufacturing grow in 2012, such as exporting and re-shoring, and several others. Exporting is an important way for manufacturers to increase sales by tapping into foreign markets. Re-shoring, when companies move their business back to America, has won manufacturers new business back home. Products "Made in America" are preferred over foreign products, so Americans are willing to pay a little extra to buy U.S.-made goods. American manufacturers are great innovators, and find creative ways to provide high quality products. Additive manufacturing, or 3D printing, will make America a leader in high-tech manufacturing.
