New additions to Intech

As Intech grows and expands, we remain focused on offering our customers excellent customer service.  We recognize the importance of providing prompt, personal service and support to our customers.  For this reason, we are very pleased to announce several changes to the Intech Services family. 

Karen Nardo has been promoted to Senior Customer Service Representative.  Her primary focus continues to be on customers service, logistics, and Teflon® supply.

Aimee Masella has joined the Intech Customer Service team as our new Office Manager. Her experience in customer service and management will enhance our ability to provide our customers with excellent service.  Aimee will be a primary interface with our customers on the phone by directing calls and ensuring you get your needs met immediately.  

Cheryl Goldstein has also joined the Intech Services team and she will be doing Market Research and Customer Service.  Her new role will help give Intech a better understanding of the markets  we serve and help us focus our energy towards growth. 

We are confident that both of these additions will position Intech well for our future growth goals.  Feel free to call or email Cheryl or Aimee with any comments or questions.

GenX Transition: 857G-100

GenX: DuPont has committed to no longer make, buy or use perfluorooctanoic acid, (PFOA) by 2015, or earlier if possible. A new DuPont technology includes a processing aid that enables DuPont to make fluoropolymers without the use of PFOA. With this new technology, DuPont has commercialized products for Industrial Fluoropolymers.  

Intech will be converting customers to the use of fluoropolymers made with GenX technology as these products become available and as our stock of the current products are depleted.  We will make announcements as each one of our products transition to the new GenX product.  The codes for the products are also transitioning.  

Based on internal testing, DuPont expects that the new products can be used as replacements for the historical products with minimal processing adjustments. 

Please also note that sales of these products will now be priced and packaged in kilograms (kg) instead of liquid weights (gallons).

Quality Shop Series: Spray Guns

The spray gun is a key component to achieving an excellent finish, but choosing the right gun for the job is sometimes difficult. Recently, our sales team went through the Liquid Spray Finishing Workshop by ITW Industrial Finishing.  At Intech, we strive to stay educated on the latest equipment and technology in order to research and select products that are best for the job. Following our training, we updated the Spray Equipment offerings and resources on our website.  After evaluating all liquid spray gun options on the market, the CoaterONE team increased our offerings to include Devilbiss® Compact™ HVLP, Conventional Air Spray, and Trans-tech Spray guns. We feel any of these guns are a good choice for the application of DuPont™ Liquid Teflon® industrial coatings.

Your selection will be based on what is of highest priority to your shop and the specific job.  Some of the factors that your shop might consider in the selection process are:
·      EPA regulations/environmental concerns
·      Size and quantity of parts
·      Finish quality
·      Atomization of the coating
·      Transfer efficiency
·      Viscosity of the material
·      Production rate
·      Energy efficiency

When selecting a spray gun you must first select one of the gun platforms:
·      Air Spray (Conventional)
·      HVLP (High Volume Low Pressure)
·      Compliant (Trans-tech)

Then choose a feed system that is right for your job: 
·      Siphon feed
·      Gravity feed
·      Pressure feed

When spraying DuPont™ Teflon® industrial coatings with a gravity feed or pressure spray gun, it’s recommend to use a 1.4 mm fluid tip/needle but for the siphon feed gun, you’ll want to use a 1.8mm. If you need additional fluid tip/needles for other applications, we have all tip/needle sizes to fit our guns for sale on the website.

Cleaning your spray gun is an important step because not keeping your gun in good working order can stop or slow production.  One way to prevent problems with your gun is to have repair and cleaning kits for your guns on your shop floor.  For just over $50, you can have parts and cleaning supplies at your fingertips.  This could also prevent major maintenance bills or having to toss your gun all together.  We’ll have more Insiders to come on troubleshooting, repair, and cleaning of spray guns.
