Intech’s Community Service team is excited for their
upcoming fundraiser. On March 3rd, Intech Services is partnering
with Catherine Rooney’s Irish Pub, a local Wilmington Delaware family-owned
restaurant, to host a guest bartender night that will raise money for the Children of the DE National Guard Youth Camp, a non-profit organization that supports our Delaware Air and Army Guardsman's families. Camp Colwell is an annual one-week, overnight youth camp at Bethany beach that benefits the children of the Delaware National Guard. Our fundraising event will feature Intech employees behind the bar
slinging drinks and soliciting tips. In addition, there will be a DJ, free
appetizers, raffle prizes, and even a live auction with our Vice President,
Chris Dohl as the enigmatic auctioneer. Individuals and local companies have
generously donated raffle prizes and auction items.
All money from raffles, tips,
auction, and ticket sales will go directly to Camp Colwell. Funding for the camp is provided by monetary
and material donations of businesses, organizations, and individuals as well as
grants; it costs approximately $45,000.00 a year to run. The seven-day
residential Camp accommodates approximately 105 youth and 65 volunteers.
Campers are 9-12 year olds and the Junior Counselor Corps are 13-17 years
old. The campers participate in classes,
excursions, arts and craft activities, recreational events, and team building
activities. Camp Colwell seeks to have kids better understand why parents serve
in the Delaware National Guard and to interact with other children that have
experienced deployments of a family member. The camp’s goal is to nurture boys
and girls to become productive, engaged, patriotic citizens.
We look forward to
having a great time and raising money for a worthy cause.
